Kings of Kangaroo Ground Vineyard and Winery
Kings of Kangaroo Ground is a privately owned boutique vineyard and winery in the Yarra Valley, only a few minutes from Eltham. Founder and winemaker Ken King planted the vineyard in 1990, selecting the Burgundy varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vines are vigorous but kept in balance by dry growing techniques and hand pruning. In 2013, Chris Ramsay teamed up with Ken as co-owner and assistant winemaker. We also established a partnership with the Coliban Glen Vineyard in Heathcote to provide Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon for our premium red wines.
All wines are made on site in Kangaroo Ground so we are a true “vine to bottle” operation. Our wine making techniques are traditional small batch with minimal intervention. We have won many medals for our wines at local and national wine shows, including a trophy at the 2023 Boutique Wine Show in Sydney.
At Cellar Door we offer a genuine “meet the winemaker” experience within our winery space.

Sales only: Monday-Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
Tastings and sales: Saturday 10am-3pm
